January ski dayz

January was an extremely busy month. My brother stayed through the first couple weeks and then we had our dear friends from Florida visit us towards the end of the month. Along with the guests, January was surprisingly busy at work. Historically January and February are the slowest months of the year for surgical services. Everyone is in a rush towards the end of the year to get their procedures done because they have met their deductibles, leaving the beginning of the year kind of dead. It has been nice to have steady work, I'll admit. January was also SOOOO COLD! I am pretty sure we hit some record lows, and we have also had plenty of snow which lends to massive ski time for us! We went on two ski trips last month, one to Winter Park with our friends from Florida and one to Steamboat Springs with our friends Nina and Paul. While we were in Steamboat we got more than 30 inches of snow, it was bananas! I have never skied in that much powder, it was fun and fluffy, but I'll admit a lot of work! It takes such a different technique to ski in knee deep powder, and fatter skies. Some exciting news is I have a trip planned to Florida to see my parents next month, I'll be praying for warm sunny weather so I can hit up the beach!

Michelle and I have been friends since the 9th grade, this was their first visit to Colorado

Glad they got some snow!

Enjoying a real fire in Winter Park

We went sledding like kids!

Paul obviously exhausted from snowboarding powder.

Beautiful Steamboat Springs
