Decisions decisions...

The holidays are almost over, and boy I am ready! Don't get me wrong I love Christmas as much as anyone else, but when the chaos is done, so am I. I'm over the eating, over the stress, over the alcohol and over my house being a mess! I packed up the Christmas tree and lights today and all that's left is a pile of tree needles to be picked up. The only thing I am not excited about the holidays being over is that means we are closer to leaving our wonderful families and friends ::sad face:: BUT a couple have already started planning their trips out to see us ::happy face::!! I get to see Tessa and Erik at the end of February and Clay and a few of his friends are gonna meet us to go skiing in Vail. All in all I had a great Christmas! Hubs made my parents and I a lovely traditional Icelandic dinner on Christmas eve. Although I have to admit the hangikjöt aka smoked lamb, was not my most favorite Icelandic dishes. I think it's the smoked flavor, because I'm not crazy abut smoked salmon either. After dinner mom, dad, hubs and I all stayed up very late playing cards, where my mom whooped up on us bug time, and dad swore I cheated( I did not!) It was a grand time, we don't do that stuff often enough. We spent Christmas at my parents and ate yummy beef tenderloin, smoked by my dad, BBQ king! With English Yorkshire pudding, just like grandma used to make :) We watched 'The Christmas Story' and everyone played with their new toys! Santa was AWESOME to me this year and I got a pretty rad gift! So I passed on my laptop to my mom who was super excited to get his first ever laptop, and she played with it all afternoon. We ended the day by going on a horseback ride. Can't get any better than that folks.

On some Colorado notes, we will start the dreaded packing this week. No clue where to start. We are going to have to change out our truck for a 4x4 in order to get around in the snow and mountains, and especially if I have to pull a horse trailer! Not that I have one...yet... But who knows what the future holds! I also got offered a job in CO by a travel agency. No, don't get too excited.. It's for a night position with crappy pay. Boo! I don't know if I should just take it to have a job, after all it is only a 13 week contract, or if I should hold out and see if something better comes along. I hate not knowing what could be right around the corner! I think what if I sign this contract, and then a better offer comes in, or a great full time position, and now I am in a 3 month contract and can't do anything about it. I think I am just going to pray on it tonite, and hopefully God will help me figure this one out. I need to put this is His hands because I am getting a little overwhelmed. The right fit is out there for me, we just have to find each other:)

For now, there's just New Years Eve to celebrate! Woohoo, fun times ahead:D

T minus 26 days

Wow, in just 26 days we will be on our way to Colorado to start our new adventure. I'll try my best to make this post as optimistic as possible, but I'm feeling a little down and gloomy about jobs right now. I talked to two recruiters today from two different companies. Both said there were still NO jobs for a RN in CO. Now, true I know there are jobs, just not for travelers. I'm not sure what to think, because one of the recruiters asked me if I was looking for a full time job, which, I didn't lie, I am, just would rather have a travel job first. So she then precedes to tell me that she knows nurses that have been trying to get jobs for months with no success. I don't know if she is just trying to scare me, so I  won't look elsewhere, or if it is true. I went into nursing because it is such a diverse field that is in such high demand, er well that's what I was told. But now since this whole world effing sucks for jobs, it seems to be way harder. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I'm a flipping critical care nurse!!! I am more trained than most nurses, and operate on a high level. They should be blowing up my phone to have me work for them. I have only been applying for jobs for a few weeks, so I'm not desperate yet, but damn cut a sister a break! Ask my husband, I am a worrier by nature, especially when it comes to money, and I have had a job consistently since I was 14, I don't know how to not work, nor do I want to know. Especially when we move to CO, if I don't have a job OR my horses, I'll just DIE! Okay I know I am being a bit dramatic, but UGH!

OKAY! That's all the complaining I will do for one post! Now to the good stuff! Hubs and I got back from CO Sunday, after spending a week there. Good news! We found our future home and put a deposit on it. It's a lovely  2b/2b condo with a great mountain view and lots of updates. It will be quite a change leaving our beautiful home with a yard to move into a condo on the 3rd floor. At first I had a major anxiety fest after we signed the lease, it made it so real! But after having some time to calm down I realized it is not the end of the world, and people move away from home everyday. It will take some adjusting, but we will survive. It's like every semester when I start classes I am SO overwhelmed and think "I'll never make it!" But you know what? I ALWAYS do! I'm thinking of this the same way; overwhelming in the beginning, but we WILL make it! I admire my brother and sister in law; they moved from Iceland to Germany with a small child! They didn't know anyone, didn't have jobs or even speak the language and you know what? They are doing just fine! So We can do this! =)
I spent most of the time in CO by myself as DH had to work during the week. You would have thought I would have been lonely, but actually I was quite content hanging alone. I walked all around downtown taking pictures, shopping and I even found a yoga studio that I went to every morning. So let me tell you downtown is a VERY eclectic place with lots of hard core yoga gurus. I went to one class that was totally out in outer space!  But the other classes I went to were better and I actually learned some great stuff to take back to FL with me. I also went hiking by myself, and had a good time although I'll admit I thought I may get eatin by a bear or mountain lion the whole time! EEK! We ended the week with a nice snow of a few inches, just enough to make it look like Christmas , and then we drove to Wyoming! We went to the capital, Cheyenne, which was literally a one horse town! We walked around, went to a museum, saw some buffalo and then headed to Ft Collins for what was advertised on Yelp as the best cinnamon buns in the state. They weren't lying!

Sunday evening after getting off the plane, I met a few of my gfs to go to Arabian nights and then to have some martinis, boy what fun we have! La Bamba ( Kati's car) nearly killed us ;) and Olga had to ride in the car seat, but we still had a blast! Man I am gonna miss those crazy girls! Last night we had our going away party which was Tacky Christmas sweater themed! I'll attach a picture. What goofs we are! We had some great food and spirits and fantastic people to share it with. Then a few of us stayed up until 3 am to watch the once in a lifetime lunar eclipse! I think they say it happens like once ever 456 years, so it REALLY was once in a lifetime! All in all a great December we are having. I'm not working, which I am still getting used to. I still feel like I need to go to bed early because I'll have to get up to work in the morning! Tomorrow I am having lunch with a couple of ladies I went to nursing school with, and then hopefully I can head out to the barn for some fresh air! If I don't get to blog again before Christmas, Merry Christmas everyone!

spider pig spider pig

::insert family guy reference::

So we had a great weekend. The hubs and I started Saturday out by going to my yoga studio's running club at 745am. I ran 2.5 miles, Arni ran 5 and then we finished off with 1.5 hour hot yoga. Great healthy way to start off our weekend! Guess we are preparing to be one of the granola folk out in CO! I do yoga almost every day that I have off, while Arni only does it occasionally with me as he loathes the heat ;) Well, yoga is good for the body and good for the soul, BUT there are some peculiar people who do yoga. So Arni always gets some new experience when he comes with me. For example: there is this one guy, maybe mid 20's who feels the need to yell "CHATURANGA!!" every time we do a chaturanga, he also wears prayer beads and drinks from a camel pack.... see peculiar. So Saturday we had a new experience that was not only annoying but mildly amusing. A woman, mid 40's, decided to take the "yoga breath" to an extreme. Just for some background, yoga is very much about the breath and controlling and warming it. The instructor encourages you to breath in and out through yours nose, and to warm your breath with the back of your throat. When done correctly, it produces  a soft breathy sigh. This is actually a difficult thing to do as in vinyasa yoga, you breath heavily because your heart rate is up. Well, anyway this woman we will call her "Huffy" was breathing in and out so incedibly loud that she sounded like a dragon breathing fire! My husband looked over at me in the mirror and gave me the "Are you kidding me!?" look and I all but lost it! The thing that kills me was she was the ONLY ONE who was breathing like that out of a room of 25 people! Seriously lady, don't you hear yourself?? I have been practicing yoga now for about 5 months thanks to my good friend Debbie, who took me to my first real class. I still have so far to go, but I find myself getting super excited when suddenly I can do a pose that I couldn't do before, even if I am doing it horribly! My first mile stone was the headstand. Not that I was ever lacking strength for this, but I had to get over the fear of falling. Once I let that notion go, I was successful! Since that defining moment I have tried more things I was scared to do. I held a crow for like 3 seconds, and got into a halfway bird of paradise on the right leg.. SUCCESS!! The point of this is that sometimes it takes mentally proving to yourself before you get there physically. Yoga has seriously changed my life, and I'm so thankful for the time I get to spend on my mat =)

As for the rest of the weekend we went to a bonfire Christmas party with my coworkers, drank to much, ate too much, had some good laughs, rode a four wheeler and electric triceratops, and lost Tessa in the woods! Hell of a party! On Sunday our sweet friend Beth had a Spiderman themed birthday party for her son Ben, who turned four. Beth is one talented lady, as you should have seen the amazing Spidey cake she made! Arni and I made the mistake overestimation of buying Ben a real life web thrower, equip with blue "web" aka silly string. First off let me say my poor Icelandic husband had not one clue what silly string was! Sheltered I tell ya! Anyway Ben thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread, ESPECIALLY when he was shooting it all over Beth's ceilings.. oops! Sorry Beth! At least she thought it was funny, and Arni cleaned off her ceilings after Spiderman was all out of web. However there may or may not be a permanent blue stain on the ceiling ><
We also made traditional Icelandic pancakes Sunday morning for our friends Ally, Joe and Joe's son Jacob. Jacob is I believe 5 or 6 years old. He has met me many times before, but usually plays shy and doesn't talk to me. Not the case this time! He was a little chatterbox! More proof that the way to a mans heart is through is stomach, or through pancakes more specifically! We just had a fantastic weekend overall! We have such amazing friends who we are truly going to miss dearly. Hoping  they will all come visit us to get their snow fix!

Oh, and this is my LAST week at work. Thursday and thats it!

Travel nursing

Well, that was fast! I applied for a travel nursing job yesterday and they already called me! Hope it all works our because the deal sounds pretty sweet. Pay about $12 more an hour than what I make now, moving stipend and living allowance! I told them Boulder/Denver area and I am seeing what they have to offer. Exciting stuff! I tell ya, if you have the means and not tied down, I don't know why everyone doesn't do travel nursing. They supply housing, pay excellent and you get to see the country! I'm really going to miss all the great Doctors and Nurses that I work with. After three years you really start to build some solid relationships and trust with these people. So as for our move, I'm particularly not looking forward to the packing.. arg. But I did clear out all unnecessary items and have been stealing loads of boxes from work. I've moved enough times already that I should be good at it, but it still stinks. I'm trying to steal some of my husbands optimism ;) I say he has an illness, it's called Chronic Optimism, I swear he must hear reggae music in his head all day long! It's not a bad disease to have ;) So today, I hear, it is cold in Florida. I wouldn't know because I have been in a building all day long, but I'm preparing to freeze my tush off, ya know practice. I swear with all the life changes I've had within the last 3 years a move should be cake! There is one thing to say about all this craziness, if Arni and I can make it through our first year of marriage with moving and job changes, we can make it through anything!

Oh and as promised some horse show pictures!

Go with the Wind!

The holidays are here! Our last holidays as Florida residence. I started off Turkey day by doing a 2 hour hot yoga class.. holy moose tracks that was the hardest thing I ever did! I went back and forth from feeling nauseous to light headed back to some nausea to seeing stars to being DONE! It was awesome! Thanksgiving was uber good, dinner at my parent's house included a lovely bird with all the traditional sides! This year I made my famous apple pie, always successful and I decided to try an orange pecan pie. Hmm, was okay, but not quite the consistency I was hoping for. Eventually I will master the pecan pie. My sweet potato casserole was smack yo momma good! Really Paula Deen herself would be jealous... After stuffing ourselves silly and learning what a "Douche bag Delux" was on Urban Dictionary (teeheehee) the family all retreated to the sofa for a 007 marathon; the boys were delighted. I surpassed all Black Friday shopping this year in exchange for a smashing good time in Ocala, FL for a Cross Country horse show with my crazy silly but OhSoFun horse friends. There is nothing like the feeling of a full out gallop through a field and jumping crazy jumps along the way. There is always that air of danger that makes it so exciting. This is an event that in order to show, you have to wear a safety vest, helmet, and wear an arm band with your health info and blood type on it; ya know.. in case you get thrown and knocked out =P So it was not only my last show for the year, but possibly with my friends and the last one for a long time. Not sure how often I can afford to come back to FL to show. Plus I eventually want to move my horses out west with me. But it was a good show none the less! We all learned some very interesting things whilst camping... haha ha, most of them referencing from Jersey Shore. I'll try to post some pics of the show later. Much to Arni's protest, I got our Christmas tree up and decorated! He says "It's not even December yet!" I say "Who cares Thanksgiving is over!" Of course I won that one ;) we may not go all out on house decorations this year because I really just can't see us having time. I have officially 2 weeks of work left and like 5 weeks until we move! Crazy!!! We are flying out the 3rd week of December to find a place to live. We'll have 4 days do or die! No playing around or being picky. I've also arranged to tour some farms while Arni is at work. Here's to hoping the weather will permit that, and that I will be able to DRIVE IN THE SNOW! Not gonna lie, a little nervous about that, but I figure Hey I'm a Florida girl, I can go 70 mph in a monsoon while the tourists do 35 mph with their flashers on, I should be able to handle a little snow! We may have to upgrade to a 4x4 but we will see if I can get by with my truck for now. So some more updates on the job hunt: I mailed my resume directly to 3 managers at a Boulder hospital and applied for two travel agencies today.  I am going to see what they have to offer me. Would be nice to get a big pay check AND a living compensation! Staying Optimistic! Cheers!

I wanna be Sedated!

Living better chemically, that should be a nurses motto! Anyway so the discussion on traveling with pets came up between the hubs and I on the way home from work tonight. To sedate or not sedate? Hmm... have never actually flown with pets before. So when I don't know the answer to something, I google ( I should have stocks in google). Looks like its a nay to sedatives, but I learned some tips: "Second, make sure the carrier you choose is large enough for your pet to be able to turn around in and be comfortable for the long flight. Third, try to make sure it is a non-stop flight to ensure that your pet does not get lost"      Yes, lets NOT lose my dog! Anyway, I'm still a little lost about the whole process and I am open for help from others who have traveled with pets, aka dog and cat, on an airplane before. I'm pretty sure I have to get a health certificate and proof of rabies
$$cha-ching$$ and then it is $75 per animal, even if we are taking them as our carry on $$CHA-CHING!$ Are you bleeping kidding me Southwest?! Talk about bending me over, my purse takes up more room than my poodle!  So this whole Colorado thing better work out because I am NOT moving again.. haha (I haven't even moved yet and I am already bitching =P  My poor poor husband)

Update on the move and job hunt:

Talked to an ER Clinical Coordinator who is a friend of a friend, she hooked me up with some managers names for a Boulder Hospital. I applied for an ICU and OR position today, so lets hope something pans out. The OR is a four 10 hr shift.. not sure what I think about that, but operating room might be cool?

How the West Was Won

Okay, so some new updates! It's official! I have finally told work about my move! I was nervous to do so but my boss took it o.k.  Actually he came into our unit, erased my name off the board and said "You are dead to me!" HaHa! Later that day he re-wrote my name as Haytie. He is seriously the best boss I have ever had and I'm sad to leave! Oh, and today after floating to one of the WORST floors EVER, he calls my phone and pretends to be one of my pts and says "I have shingles on my butt and I pooped and need you to help me!" OMG seriously?! Now what manager do you know that is that much of a goofball?! Anyway made me laugh, and that helped with the God awful shift I was having. So as for our updates on the move: The hubs got his OFFICIAL offer on the job, yippyyy!! So no backing out now! We are to leave it's looking like the 2nd week of January... yep the coldest month of the year. My Florida girl wardrobe will hardly do.... but with me lacking a J.O.B. still, I'll have to make do with Wal-Mart sweat pants or something ::cringe:: I got a number for a travel nursing agency, so I might check them out, and I started filling out the paperwork to have my FL licence xferred to CO.  Things are moving though! Exciting stuff! so as for the  FL house.. hmm, still trying to figure that out.. rent? Sell? that will remain TBA. It does look, however, like I may be taking a trip to CO right before Christmas to go apartment hunting with the hubs, wish us luck there! We found a couple nice places on craigslist, so hopefully they are as nice in person. As for my last day at work, I was thinking December 17, but it looks like I may leave one week earlier, so I will have time for my final exams, as well as take our trip out there. We have a tacky xmas sweater party going away party in the 18 and then hopefully the 19 Arabian Nights Christmas show with my horsie BFFs! Trying to spend as much time with everyone as I can before we leave. This year's holidays will be hectic but wonderful! Next up is Thanksgiving at my Mom and Dad's house!! I will be making my famous Sweet potato casserole and two pies: KT's Homemade Apple and Southern Pecan Pie! Delic-erous!

Lost in an Icelandic forrest? Stand up!

hehehe okay, so maybe you didn't get the title unless you are Icelandic... google "trees in Iceland" and you will understand =)

We just got home from dinner at my gf Tessa's super cute beach bungalow, where we bribed Arni with a home cooked meal in exchange for finishing up the curtain hanging project we so sucked at! But at least we mastered the beast of a drill!

How do you make a blonde laugh on Saturday?

Tell her a joke on Wednesday.

Now my husband is jamming out to Journey and I am blogging instead of doing homework!

Update: Got the name and number of a recruiter/director thanks to our friend Clay, so I'll give her a call next week and hopefully she can give me some references! Arni's parents also packed all their clothes and stuff into boxes ready for the move.. weird that we are just starting this stuff.. I think I am still in denial!

Schnitzels!!

So in just a few, Arni and I are off to take the in laws to a local German restaurant, called the European Cafe and Schnitzel house for some schnitzels!! Really I just like saying schnitzel! We figured this would be an appropriate eatery as my mother in law is half German and Arni's brother and his wife also live in Deuchland! Hope it's good! Anyway so after the mass amounts of crap food I have eaten lately ( no, I am not the one on holiday, although Arni and I have been eating as if we are..) I've decided to add to my "Cold Turkey" list ( Yes, I had to explain this metaphor to my cute Icelandic husband.. there is many things I have to explain.. most of the time it is just amusing). Two years ago I decided to give up fast food, and I am proud to say I have not eaten a single morsel of McDonalds/Burger King yada yada.. and this year I gave up diet soda ( had given up regular a while ago) and for the most part I've done well with this, with the exception of about 4 diet sodas on special occasions.. but hey it's October and I can count on one hand the amount of coke I have drank.. big improvement from the 2-3 diet cokes I drank almost daily! So my next goal; I think will benefit me the most but will be the hardest: Give up processed/white sugar. Yep, that means no more candies/cookie/ ís/ kleinur!! AHH!!!! But I can do it. I have decided to make exceptions for Holidays, but only for the actual holiday.. not everyday in the month of Christmas, haha. Wish me luck, I figure if I declare it publicly I will have better chance of sticking to it ;)

The suspense is KILLING ME!!!

So we have known since August that Árni got the job and we would be moving to Colorado. But we didn't know when, so the only people we could tell was our families. Then after the next trip he took, we found out it would be January. Great now we have a month, but when do we move in the month? We still have yet to find out. So hopefully after his November trip we will have something more concrete. Now, though at least we were able to tell our close friends. I still have not told my work about us leaving  : / not so much looking forward to that. Mostly because I have only been in my new department for about 6 months. It's like I just started now I am leaving! When I took the job though, I honestly didn't know we would be moving. I took the job in May, we found our in August. The sucky part is I REALLY love my new job and am sad to leave and nervous I won't find a job I love this much in Colorado.. =( I think I will tell my manager mid-November, that way he will have a couple months to find a replacement for me ( not that anyone could EVER replace me..haha) Anyway the suspense is KILLING me!!! I have not been able to tell so many people about our move because of work, and I am so excited I want to tell EVERYONE!!! =) =)

Oh, and we have had my in-laws staying with us for the past couple weeks.. man have they been a big help around the house! Our yard is re-mulched, laundry room painted, ceiling fan installed, and the list goes on and on.. this has been an awesome staycation! They say they love doing this stuff.. I hope so b/c I enjoy having them.

Status on our move: Arni has a work trip planned first week on November, and I have sent out my resume to 4 jobs, heard back from one recruiter so far for ICU position. Fingers crossed!

Change is inevitable - except from a vending machine

 Blogging FAIL!

Ha, so there are a few reasons why I have not blogged on a regular basis:
1. No time! Work, school, work, school ... AHH ::pulls hair out::
2.My lovely in-laws are in town...trying to spend quality time
3.I still find it hard to find things to write about
4.I'm boring really...

Any-who I have lived in Ormond Beach for 2 years now and FINALLY started trying some cool new restaurants and different places.. the main reason for this is simply money.. Arni and I had been saving for the past 2 years for our wedding we just never went out to eat; or very rarely. Well thanks to my good friend Tessa I got to go to one of the coolest, hippest restaurant/lounges in OB: Caffeine. Live music almost everyday of the week (like Cold Play meets Kings of Leon ..way digging that!) a GREAT selection on food:recommending fish tacos(yumm-o) and on Wednesday nights guess what?! LADIES NIGHT!!!! 1/2 off VINO and COCKTAILS!!!!! After the 12 hours my fellow nursey friend and I had just put in those words were like the waitress just spoke sweet notes of velvet softly on my ears..uh yeah cheesy but whatever you get the point! With all intent of having a quick meal and then catching a flick at the local theater.. we loaded up on wine and fish tacos and then stuffed ourselves with more wine! Needless to say after a slightly buzzed conversation about how dating a musician would be intense but impossible (Hey maybe Mr. Cold Play was making an impression lol) we called it a night and then Tessa had to go get all mushy on me and proclaim her love for me and how she didn't want me to move yada yada.. haha but seriously though, I am going to be super sad to leave a select few (you know who you are!) but still remaining excited and positive of all the possibilities there is to come!

Oh and PS: GOD I hope I am not boring you with my mindless blogs; I swear once we move they might get more interesting!

I'm walking on sunshine!

So I had a FABULOUS day today! Well, let me back track.. I've had a fabulous week! (No, not because my husband is out of town either..hehe) Anyway I did the annual heart walk yesterday evening and had a super great time. Not only was I doing a community event and raising money for the cure of heart disease, I was cutting the fool and having a ball with some awesome ladies! It started off with receiving a T-shirt 4 x's too big, and it was a neon green.. yep sexy! So I eighty-fied it and chopped it up to make a cute off the shoulder mini tee! Leave it to me to want to look cute at a heart walk! Anyway I had a great time, saw a bunch of people I currently work with and some from when I worked on the ambulance.. a few of us met for adult beverages afterward, and laughs were had by all! So today started off great with a Zen Yoga class (also taught by a respiratory therapist I work with- she is a FABULOUS lady!) and left feeling super spiritual and super limber! I am SOOOOOO addicted to yoga.. I'm telling you with the sudo-vegitarian lifestyle and my love of yoga, I'll fit right in with the mountain hippies! After yoga I got to do one of my favorite things with one of my favorite ladies; I went horseback riding with my very funny and super cute Finnish friend. She brought me back Finnish chocolate (mmmmmm) and the most AWESOME plaid breeches I ever saw!!!! I heart her =)  Anyway the weather couldn't have been more amazingly perfect, and I have been floating on cloud 9 all day ::sigh:: Now off to pick my hubby up from the airport and find out how his trip to the big CO was!

I need 37 hours in a day

Seriously there cannot possibly be enough hours in a day! When you work 12 hour shifts, it leaves little time for anything except vegging out and crashing.. let alone school work, job hunt, house hunt, husband, friends, horse, cat, dog.. in no particular order ;) Oh and for fun let's add my new found activity.. blogging to that list. Hopefully I can keep up with everything and not toss it aside as I did with my half knitted scarf (knitting needles still attached). My floor has dust bunnies-not so cute-, my dog is looking at me with more scruff on her face than a billy goat, I have a pile of papers due and I will spend tomorrow's 12 hours tending to others needs and probably wiping a few butts in the process.. but you know what? I wouldn't trade any of it for the world.. well maybe I would wipe less butts.. but hey it pays the bills! As ICE (Icelandic Cowboy Expat aka my hubby-- u know u like that acronym) and I try to finish up our next educational degrees and try to cope with the mental challenge of moving and pretty much changing our lives completely we still manage to have fun! Life would be BORING without all this craziness.. and we have some great likewise crazy friends to keep us entertained.. So let's live up the last few months we have here folks!

What do you mean NO palm trees?!?!

Okay so here is the basic story:

Girl meets boy, girl likes boy, boy is from Iceland... Iceland?! "That's the green one right?" HA.. note to non-Icelanders... just don't say that! After what I took as an eye roll  a look of understanding; I was soon educated on all things Icelandic. Their love of fish, lamb, all things licorice (seriously I don't think you can find a candy in Iceland devoid of licorice!) awesome wool sweaters, and Björk made for some interesting first date topics. Don't be fooled though.. I didn't just fall for my tall, blue eyed viking that easy. Actually I may or may not have turned him down a few times.. I'm sure he will go with the may option. Nothing personal.. honestly I didn't know if getting involved with an international (student- as we were both at the time) was the right thing for me.. I mean what if he wants me to move to ICELAND?!?!? That's like the North Pole or something!!! I mean aren't there Eskimos and polar bears??.. I'm sorry but if it is not like 98 degrees with 100% humidity and mosquitoes the size of a pterodactyl to pick you up and carry you to their young.. I'm not gonna survive! What would life be like with our annual hurricane parties or dirty beach hippies?  All jokes aside I ::sigh:: fell in love.. hook, line and sinker! Of course his dapper good looks, perfect cheekbones, and absurd knowledge of airplanes didn't hurt either ;)

So anyway to make a long blog longer ( note to readers- I can be long winded, but what I have to say is SO captivating that it's worth taking the time to read! After-all what else were you gonna do...Facebook?!)
We fell in love, recently got married (in Iceland..more on that crazy adventure later.lol) settled into our beautiful home, and now he has decided he wants to move... to Colorado.. where there is no pterodactyl mosquitoes, or humidity and ::screech:: snow.. that white cold wet stuff that I have seen all of ONCE in my life!!! Oh boy... the things we do for love. On a plus note, although I will have to sadly give up my dirty beach hippes..it will be in exchange for dirty mountain hippies.. life is good!

Thanks for reading and enjoying our journey across country- this blog is to keep our family and friends, whom we are wistfully leaving behind, updated on our daily trials and tribulations and hopefully my awe-inspiring musings will at least make you chuckle =)
